This white marble fireplace was made in 1822 by Robert Jones and Samuel Parker for the Saloon at the Royal Pavilion. It is a wonderful expression of chinoiserie with japanned metal oriental figures as well as serpent-dragons with bodies bending to encircle rosettes. The fireplace was moved to Buckingham Palace around 1845.
