The radiogram – a piece of furniture combining a radio and gramophone – reached its peak of popularity in the post-war era, supported by a rapidly growing interest in records. This example was given to Princess Elizabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh by the famous English conductor, organist and composer Sir Malcolm Sargent, on the occasion of their marriage on 20 November 1947.
