The seven men in this drawing would probably all have been recognisable by Joseph Smith and his contemporaries, but only the two at far left (closer to portraits than caricatures) have been identified. They are the artist’s brother, Giuseppe Zanetti, and Piero Franzifava, a nobleman who funded one of Venice’s theatres.
