Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) was the eldest child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. This is the first in a sequence of circular miniatures by Sir William Ross of the children of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert painted between 1845 and 1857 when each child was about five years old.
