The Heart of the Antarctic: being the Story of the British Antarctic Expedition 1907 – 1909, 2 vols

On Shackleton’s return from the Antarctic, he was obliged, owing to public demand and the expedition’s debts, to write a book about the Nimrod expedition, produced in collaboration with Edward Saunders, a New Zealand journalist. Its release coincided with Shackleton’s British lecture tour, and was well received.
