A large selection of the photographs taken during the National Antarctic Expedition of 1901 – 04 on board the Discovery were published as part of the 11-volume official report of the expedition’s scientific findings. This final volume of photographs and sketches was dedicated solely to images of Antarctica and its wildlife. Acquired by King Edward VII, 1909. Ex cat.
