Wilson painted these images from field sketches made during the Discovery expedition (1901 – 04). They were presented to King Edward VII by Wilson on 18 December 1905, on the same day that the King presented Wilson with his Polar Medal for services to the expedition. Presented to King Edward VII by the artist, 18 December 1905 Ex cat.
