HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES (B. 1948)

Monastery building at Vatopaida, Mount Athos, Greece

RCIN 300116

The Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopaidi on Mount Athos dates back to the 10th century. Today, the monastery is occupied by around 100 monks. In this watercolour The Prince of Wales has placed the monastery at the centre of his composition, allowing the crisp white and terracotta building to stand-out against the surrounding landscape elements.
