A drawing of a view towards buildings, including three cottages and a church, across a field in the foreground of which several figures and cows are grouped. Some small trees divide the village from the field. Signed or inscribed in the bottom left margin: J: Versteegh. del: ad.viv:, and on the right: 1758. This is one of a series of thirteen works in the Royal Collection, by this little-known artist (RCIN 906246, 906247, RCIN 906253-906256, RCIN 912911-912917).

Listed in George III's 'Inventory A,' c.1800, p.119 ('Dutch Landscapes'), nos. 1-38: 'Chiefly consisting of neat views of Holland the Masters names mark'd are / Verstien, Schoot, and W. Troost.'
