A regulation copper and brass bugle; engraved with the maker's name
Henry Potter and Co. was founded in 1810. The company initially produced fifes, drums, and bugles but soon diversified into other areas of music.Provenance
This is possibly the bugle WC Nrth Corr 1348 - bugle of the 1/24th Regiment, lost in the Battle of Isandlwana, 1879, during the Anglo-Zulu War, and later found in the possession of Cetshwayo ka Mpande, King of the Zulu, on 27 August 1879. See GPN RCIN 2400549.
