In a rocky mountain landscape, looking down to a valley, sits a woman, dressed in black with a red blouse, brown apron and headdress, in profile to the left, looking down at a sleeping girl on the ground; scythe on a pole and two bundles left foreground.
The painting is described on the frame as a 'copy' but the identity of the original remains elusive.Provenance
First recorded in Room no 321 at Windsor Castle in 1878
