Photograph of King Edward VII (1841-1910) standing on the left and facing the viewer. He holds the right hand of Queen Alexandra (1844-1925) who faces three-quarters left. The King wears an ermine robe and holds a plumed bicorne hat. He wears the orders of the Garter and the Bath. The Queen wears a coronet, the King Wiliam IV brooch at her middle, Queen Victoria's stud earrings, the Bow Brooches suspending chain of collet diamonds on her dress, Queen Adelaide's Brooch also at her waist, Queen Victoria's Fringe Brooch her neck and Queen Victoria's Bracelet on her left wrist.
During this photographic session Princess Victoria of Wales was present, with her camera. She photographed her parents from the side, and the resulting photographs are in one of her albums (RCIN 2925070, also numbered RPC 03/0093). The photographer was probably William Edward Downey (1855-1908), the son of the original William Downey. -
