Find out about our huge range of roles and what it's like working for Royal Collection Trust

  • Our roles

Harry, Web and Digital Projects Assistant

Royal Collection Trust's online presence is managed and developed by the System Infrastructure section. Our work encompasses the Royal Collection Trust website, which incorporates 'The Royal Collection Online', the online Shop and the ticketing website.

Working across such a range of platforms means that our day-to-day activity is extremely varied. We see a direct correlation between what we do and the experience users have online, both in terms of finding our content and engaging with it. We produce analytics reports, write technical briefs for web development, support the creation of multimedia content, such as films and interactives, and have to be ready to 'firefight' when a technical solution fails.

One day we might be making minor behind-the-scenes adjustments to improve the user experience on the website, while on another we could be developing a sector-leading map interface that allows users to see where thousands of items from the Royal Collection are currently on display around the world.

A detailed knowledge and understanding of web technologies, excellent project-management skills and an outstanding eye for detail are essential, and it is important to keep abreast of ever-changing technologies and to be willing to think outside the box.
