Medieval to Modern: Exploring the Palace of Holyroodhouse

This session is ideal for teachers looking for an introduction to the Palace and can be tailored to place greater emphasis on key time periods depending on your focus of study.

Pupils explore the Palace of Holyroodhouse’s history, from its medieval beginnings in Holyrood Abbey to its present day use by the Royal Family. Using the rooms and objects to unravel stories, pupils explore the Palace with a member of the Learning team and find out about the lives of some of our most famous residents including Mary, Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Queen Victoria.
