New tour of historic grounds at Holyroodhouse

From 1 May, visitors to the Palace of Holyroodhouse can join a guided walk around the historic gardens. Taking in parts of the grounds not normally open to the public, the Garden History Tour includes the ruins of the 12th-century Abbey, the site of the Palace menagerie and the sundial built for the coronation of Charles I. Visitors will also see the Jubilee Border and where the Royal Company of Archers practise archery and The Queen's Garden Party takes place.

Garden History Tours run hourly throughout the day when the Palace is open, until 30 September. Combined tickets for the Palace and a Garden History Tour are available at a discounted price here. Tickets for the tour may also be purchased separately by 1-Year Pass holders on arrival at the Palace, price £3.50 for an adult.
