The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace: Online learning resource

Working in partnership with Royal Collection Trust, the London Grid for Learning (LGfL) has produced a unique resource for schools which illustrates the daily work of The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace.

LGfL was given the opportunity to film the key staff members as they went about their daily work. The resource features extensive video clips showing the techniques used and explains how centuries-old traditions continue to support the Royal Household.

The ‘The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace’ online resource features an extensive range of features including:
• Behind the scenes video clips and interviews with Royal Mews staff.
• Historic and present day high-resolution photographs from the Royal Collection.
• Scans of historic records from the Royal Archives.
• An interactive timeline.
• Lesson plans and suggested learning activities to support teachers.
• A ‘Resource Bank’ feature allowing access to the wide range of resources in a format that can be filtered by section, type and topic.

‘The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace’ online resource is available at www.royalmews.lgfl.net  to all schools registered with LGfL and the National Education Network (NEN) providers.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
