In celebration of the birth of Her Majesty The Queen's new great-grandchild, HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, three short films, providing an extraordinary glimpse into royal childhood over the years, are now showing as part of the visitor experience at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The short films include footage showing Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret with their parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh with Prince Charles and Princess Anne. Another film includes photographs of royal children, from Queen Victoria's grandson, Prince George (the future King George V), to Her Majesty The Queen's grandchildren, Prince William and Prince Harry, and great-grandson, Prince George.

The 'Royal Childhood' films are showing at the Palace of Holyroodhouse until Sunday, 3 January 2016.
