Delve into the fascinating life of Mary, Queen of Scots with a combined visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the National Museum of Scotland's new exhibition Mary, Queen of Scots.
At the Palace your group can explore Mary's private apartments, the setting for many dramatic episodes in her short and turbulent reign. A visit includes Mary's Bedchamber, described as 'the most famous room in Scotland', and her Outer Chamber, the location of her secretary Rizzio’s violent murder.
The Mary, Queen of Scots exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to discover much that has been written and speculated about Mary, one of the most charismatic monarchs of all time. Using jewels, textiles, furniture, documents and portraits, Mary's dramatic story and this fascinating period in Scottish history are explored in detail.
