The French king Francis I attracted prestigious Italian artists to his court including artist and draughtsman Leonardo da Vinci and the sculptor Benvenuto Cellini. This talk from Lauren Porter, Print Room Assistant, will look at a costume design by Leonardo and a bronze satyr by Cellini and consider why they were created and what they reveal about the patronage of Francis I.
10-Minute Talks are free with an exhibition ticket or 1-Year Pass.
