BBC Radio Berkshire

Berkshire is home to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, and Her Majesty The Queen's weekend home. Open to visitors all year round, the Castle houses some of the most important works of art in the Royal Collection, many of them in the historic settings for which they were originally commissioned. Alongside magnificent examples of porcelain, furniture and paintings, visitors to the castle can also see displays of arms and armour, silver gilt and sculpture from the Royal Collection.

To complement the Royal Collection Season on the BBC Royal Collection Trust's Senior Curator of Decorative Arts, Kathryn Jones, discusses some of the key pieces on display at Windsor Castle, such as Henry VIII's impressive suit of armour and the intricate Dolls' House, built for Queen Mary by the leading British architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens between 1921 and 1924.
