Harquebusier’s pot (Zischägge) with one-piece hemispherical skull formed with eight slightly hollowed panels radiating from a hole at its apex for a missing finial, fitted at the crown with a staple and locking-screw for a missing sliding nasal-bar, and a slightly downturned obtusely pointed peak struck with the crowned ‘IR’ government ownership mark of the reign of James II (1685–8), and at the nape with an associated, flaring, obtusely pointed neck-guard of four lames, damaged at its tip, the main edges of the peak and neck-guard formed with plain inward turns, and the cheek-pieces missing.
