As one part of the French army engaged Wellington at Quatre Bras, another fought the Prussians at Ligny. Led by Blücher, the Prussians were hoping for allied reinforcements, but the simultaneous battle of Quatre Bras meant that these never arrived. The Prussians were defeated, and Blücher was injured falling from his horse, under which he was trapped, as this print shows.
