RCIN 31647

This bust was created for Napoleon’s brother, Lucien, to decorate a galerie des Consuls in the Tuileries Palace in Paris. Marlborough stood among a group of sculptures of other great military commanders admired by Napoleon. The bust is thought to have been acquired by George IV after the death of Napoleon.
