RA GEO/ADD43/2 (view an extract from the document)

Nine volumes of Queen Charlotte’s diary survive in the Royal Archive, covering the period 1789–94.

    Johan Zoffany (1733/4 - 1810), Queen Charlotte (1744-1818), 1771, RCIN 405071©

Dating from 1789 and 1794, they are the only eighteenth-century Royal diaries preserved in the Archives, and provide an intimate record of the Queen's domestic life.

The pages available here are for the entries for 24 and 25 November 1789, with George III going ‘a hunting’ and the Queen playing her harpsichord and joining the young Princesses in a game of ‘Reversi’.
