EDWARD ADRIAN WILSON (1872-1912)

The camp at the South Pole

18 Jan 1912

RCIN 2580041

The five men pose in front of their tent at the South Pole (from left to right: Wilson, Scott, Evans, Oates and Bowers), with the Union Jack just visible in the left distance. Wilson is holding a string which operated the camera. The negatives for these images taken at the South Pole were found in the tent with the bodies of Scott, Wilson and Bowers.
