FRANK HURLEY (1885-1962)

Bummer

1915

RCIN 2580065

This affectionate portrait shows Bummer. Shackleton wrote ‘I do not know who had been responsible for some of the names, which seemed to represent a variety of tastes’. Bummer survived with the majority of the dogs until early 1916, when they were shot because of shortage of food.
