The components for this bud-shaped perfume holder appear to have been made in two different workshops, or even different parts of India. The four leaves of the bud with its gold openwork foliate patterning, the gold perfume bottles and the chased base are likely to have been made in Madras. The silver filigree work is typical of metalwork from Orissa.
