Arm guards

RCIN 11496

During his visit to Gwalior, the Prince stayed in the Maharaja’s newly built palace, Jai Vilas Mahal where the Prince’s bedstead, washing service and bath were made of silver, revealing the opulence of the Maharaja’s court. This was affirmed when the Prince observed a military review at Gwalior, where the Maharaja and many of his attendants wore jewel-encrusted armour, of the same type as these armguards.
