The Prince spent nine days visiting Ceylon, where this casket was presented to him. It contained spices including betel nut, cinnamon, coffee, vanilla and pepper, which are grown there. During his time in Ceylon, the Prince visited the Royal Botanical Garden, an exhibition on the agriculture and horticulture of Ceylon and coffee and cocoa factories.
