The Sri Ranganathaswamy temple complex in Tamil Nadu is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites in India. These pen and ink drawings from the collection of George III were made by local draughtsmen in the service of Colin Mackenzie,
the first Surveyor-General of the East India Company.
