The Georgian monarchs and their consorts collected paintings and prints by European artists who travelled to India. These presented a new, heavily romanticised vision of South Asia. In this print an East India Company officer is depicted concluding an alliance with the Maratha ruler in Poona (Pune) against Tipu Sultan.
