This scene show the Lawnmarket near the top of the Royal Mile, the main road through the oldest part of Edinburgh. On the right is the demolition of the Weigh House, a fourteenth-century building used to weigh butter and cheese, which was removed in 1822 to make way for the procession of George IV to Edinburgh Castle.
