The Queen’s riding horse, Burmese (1962 –90), was a gift from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and was presented to Her Majesty in 1969. The Queen rode Burmese to every subsequent Trooping the Colour, and on other occasions, until Burmese was retired in 1986. The following year, St John Ambulance, who provide advanced first aid at events including Trooping the Colour, presented this bronze to The Queen, who has been their Patron since 1952.
