England Invaded, or Frenchmen Naturalized.

A hand-coloured print of an imaginary battle raging between English and French troops. The French troops wear striped trousers and blue coats and the English wear red coats. The French are being driven into the sea. In the distance, a sea battle also rages. There was much fear that France would invade England in the 1790s. Although the anticipated invasion of England never materialised, French forces did invade Ireland in August 1798.
