1912

RCIN 1080356

Katharine Adams, one of the foremost bookbinders of the Arts and Crafts movement, made many of the tools used in decorating her bindings. Here Tudor roses and pomegranates (the emblem of Mary I’s mother Katherine of Aragon) have been combined with crowns similar to Queen Mary’s 1911 coronation crown forming a visual connection between the two royal women.
