Worn for the bicentennial celebrations of the discovery of Australia, 1970. During a six-week tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1970 The Queen wore this ensemble of princess-line day dress and coat in the national colour of Australia – yellow, trimmed with bands of white. The coordinating hat is covered with loosely-woven white ribbon terminating in a streamer.
