    On 4 August 2000 Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother celebrated her 100th birthday. To mark the occasion a service of Thanksgiving was held at St Paul’s Cathedral and The Queen wore this outfit of silk dress and jacket with a striking hat by Philip Somerville. The hat has a noticeably higher crown and broader brim than The Queen’s hats from earlier decades.
