A manuscript copy of the regulations and statutes of the Windsor based Order of chivalry. Presented to King Charles I when he was Prince of Wales by his mother, Anne of Denmark, on or after his investiture into the Order in 1611. It was rebound in 1639 for him (after he had become King), still retaining the Prince of Wales feathers badge on the back board and the initials CP (Carolus Princeps; Prince Charles). This manuscript was purchased on behalf of The Queen from Sotheby’s in April 1969. It appears as no. 36 in Vanderdoort’s catalogue.
