SEBASTIANO RICCI (BELLUNO 1659-VENICE 1734)

Two heads

1726

RCIN 907200

The heads are studies for the Virgin and a page in Sebastiano’s painting of the Adoration of the King, on display earlier. Sebastiano must have studied the drawings in coloured chalks on blue paper of his sixteenth-century Venetian predecessors, especially Paolo Veronese (1528–1588) and Jacopo Bassano (c.1510–1592).
