Children's heads

1716

RCIN 906996

On their journey back from England to Venice in 1716, Sebastiano and his nephew Marco visited the collector and banker Pierre Crozat in Paris. Crozat took Sebastiano to the studio of the painter Antoine Watteau, where he greatly admired his chalk drawings. This is one of several copies that Sebastiano made while in Watteau’s studio.
