Nicola Grimaldi, known as ‘Nicolino’, was another famous castrato. He is performing here in Oriental costume alongside the soprano Lucia Facchinelli, ‘La Becheretta’, in Leonardo Lalli’s 1728 opera Argeno. The opera was performed at the theatre of San Grisostomo, where Smith kept a box.
