The Four Last Things

Signed and dated 1565

RCIN 405786

On the left a man on his deathbed is administered the last rites. Beneath the rising sun of the Second Coming, the dead are judged by Christ. The mouth of Hell is represented beneath the clouds of Heaven by a fish’s mouth, where Pluto, classical god of the underworld, watches his devils claim the damned.
