Cartier at National Gallery of Australia [Canberra]

This loan to the National Museum of Australia in Canberra includes two desk clocks by Cartier, one of which is part of a larger suite of desk furniture including an inkstand which was a diplomatic gift from France to The Queen during her first State Visit to the country in 1957. The other clock was a gift from Queen Alexandra to her son, George V, on his coronation in 1911. Neither object has been seen on public display before.
