Tintoretto: Birth of a genius at Musée du Luxembourg [Paris]

Forming part of celebrations for the 500th birthday of the painter Jacopo Tintoretto, this exhibition focuses on the artist's early work. Drawing upon recent research, the exhibition presents religious and profane paintings and portraits by the young master, alongside works by his immediate predecessors, rivals, assistants and successors. Hung alongside work by Lucas van Gassel, the exhibition will explore whether Lodewijk Toeput's Pleasure Garden with a Maze, on loan from the Royal Collection, is in fact an early work by Tintoretto.
