As part of the Great Exhibition of the North, Which Way North explores how inventors, scientists and artists from the north of England have shaped the modern world.  The loan from the Royal Collection consists of a miniature watercolour made for Queen Mary's Dolls' House by the Bradford-born artist James Robert Granville Exley, and a photograph of Lady Katherine Frances Lambton, the future Duchess of Leeds, taken by the photographic firm of W&D Downey who had strong links to Newcastle.
