Making Majesty: Building and Borrowing the Regal Image at Dublin Castle [Dublin]

The loan to Dublin Castle of the Irish Sword of State, part of the Regalia and usually housed at the Tower of London, will be the first time the Sword has returned to Ireland since Partition in 1922. The Sword will be displayed in the Throne Room, where it was historically displayed as a symbol of the monarch's authority. The Sword will be accompanied by a finely enamelled box in the shape of a shamrock, presented to George IV to mark his official visit to Ireland in 1821.
