Rectangular strut frame, with top projecting corners and notched base, blue lacquer; pierced crest of quiver and torch with ribbons, beaded mount and bezel, inset photograph in colour of Queen Alexandra.
This frame is unusual, lacquer being a relatively rare technique in Fabergé’s oeuvre. It was produced in the workshop of Anders Nevalainen, who specialised in frames and enamelled objects. The coloured photograph by W&D Downey dates from 1913.
Mark of Anders Nevalainen; silver mark of 88 zolotniks (1896-1908)
