A pencil and watercolour drawing of a girl in a yellow dress and grey pinafore, seated on a log and reading a book. Sandby must have known the work of French artists such as Francois Boucher, Philippe Mercier and Bernard Picart, who often drew reclining ladies. The sitter has not been identified. The same sitter is shown in RCIN 914428.
