Sèvres hard-paste porcelain basin. Dark blue ground on the outside, the rim and moulded foot are gilded. The bowl is circular with a flared rim and short foot; within, it is decorated in gold with a swirling rosette within a circular band composed of an ivy trail entwined round a rod, and along the top with a frieze of pendent chrysanthemums and foliage.
