This is one of three copies or imitations of Dutch masters (Adriaen van de Velde and Wouwerman, CW 258-60, 402473, 402511 and 402507), probably dating from the eighteenth century acquired by Queen Victoria. A group of figures in a semi-ruined courtyard; a friar is giving soup to a man begging; figures and a laden mule approach through an arch.
